What types of wax does Clique use?
We use 2 different types of wax. Hard and soft wax depending on your skin and hair type and texture. We also offer threading or just tweezing for our guests with sensitive skin around the brows.
How long should my hair be before my wax?
Body hair must be a quarter of an inch (about 10-14 days of growth) to adhere correctly to the wax.
What can I do to prepare for my waxing session?
Exfoliate the area to be waxed the night before your service. Exfoliating the skin will allow the hair to come out easier prior to your waxing and after will help keep the ingrown hairs to a minimum. Arrive a few minutes early to relax, use the restroom and read a magazine.
I’m a guy – is your Louisville salon the right choice for me?
Absolutely! At Clique Boutique in Louisville, all guests are welcome. Our most popular mens services are brow shaping (we will keep them as natural or as shaped as you want!), nose and ear wax, skincare and facials and our custom airbrush tan. Men love to look tan too!
How can I maintain my smooth skin in between waxing appointments?
Do not shave between sessions. Shaving chafes the skin and creates sharper, coarser hair! Schedule your next appointment for 4 weeks and throw that razor out. In the meantime, you can apply our Bliss Ingrown Hair Eliminator Pads between sessions for soft and smooth post-waxed skin – you can grab these in our Louisville Salon.
What happens if my skin peels after getting a facial peel treatment?
Not everyone experiences peeling with a peel, but if you do experience peeling, be sure to keep the skin moist and do not pick or pull at the skin.
How long does a microblading session last?
Your first Microblading session will take around 2 hours. This includes time for numbing creme, pre-draw and color consultation. The actual microblading portion of the service is only about 30 minutes. You get to hold a mirror the entire time and can take a peek whenever you choose. Relax and rest assured that you will love your fuller and perfectly filled in brows!
Does microblading hurt?
Truthfully? Not really! Microblading is generally not considered painful, and prior to and during the procedure, we’ll apply a topical anesthetic to numb your eyebrow area. Your comfort is our priority!
